The Etruscans left behind deep traces of their culture which last till today. These traces are visible in the area of Castello di Murlo, at the Necropolis of Poggio Aguzzo, and at the princely residence of Poggio Civitate, that has provided the important finds for the archaeological museum of Murlo: the “Antiquarium di Poggio Civitate“.
The traces of the Etruscans are also present in today’s people of Murlo who, according to several DNA-studies, are considered the direct descendants of this old and mysterious population.
